Woo hoo, I'm so excited!!! I've just heard back from the Sydney International Design Festival and my submission for "Green with Envy" walking tours in Surry Hills / Paddington / Waterloo has been accepted to be part of the official program for the 2010 festival!!!
Massive news for me... Those of you who know me personally know how passionate I am about sharing Sydney's hidden gems and creative talents with the rest of the world, so I'm super excited about this. Besides, considering I only left my day job 4 months ago to start a new business and fully embrace my passion, this is no mince feat for me...
The International Design Festival (31 July - 14 August 2010) is one of my favourite festivals in Sydney - three weeks of really inspiring design-focused events, talks, exhibitions, workshops, markets and... walking tours, of course!
Basically, the MYTINERARY "Green with Envy" walking tours will focus on beautiful green design. The idea is to boost awareness of sustainable practices whilst supporting all these amazing Sydney / Australian designers and store owners who create and curate with sustainability in mind. It's about telling customers that nowadays, you can have the best of both worlds and consume responsibly without having to sacrifice on design. Can't wait to share my favourite spots with you.
Stay tuned - more info soon!
PS: feel free to share any personal favourite of yours, or additional recommendations you may have on Sydney's green design front. I'm all ears ;-)
